Job Position: Entry-Level Hydrovac Truck Operator
Pay: Based on Experience, $25-35 per hour
Job Type: Full Time, Monday-Friday with additional on call responsibilities

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as an entry-level Hydrovac Truck Operator. In this role, you will work closely with an experienced operator, assisting with various tasks to complete jobs. This position offers comprehensive on-the-job training, leading to the opportunity to independently drive and operate a hydro-vacuum truck. During the training, you will learn how to safely drive a hydro-vacuum excavation truck, identify utility locations, and perform hydro-excavation. Additionally, you will be trained on proper equipment maintenance, completing required paperwork, and adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Safely and professionally operate and drive the Hydrovac Truck
Complete hydro excavation tasks, including utility line exposures, debris removal, trenching, and digging
Work flexible shifts with potential for extended hours
Set up job sites, including signage and traffic control
Establish and inspect grounding and bonding procedures for Hydrovac operations
Accurately complete all required paperwork within specified timelines
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance on equipment
Assist with equipment spotting during backing and excavation processes
Lift and carry materials of varying weights
Perform general cleanup duties on the job site
Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, high-visibility vest, steel-toe boots, pants, gloves, and face shield.
Scope of Work:
Communication - Frequent interaction with team members and clients to coordinate excavation activities
Responsibility for Others - Ensuring the safety of team members and clients during operations
Work Setting - Working outdoors in various weather conditions and construction environments which includes trenches and excavation sites
Job Hazards - Exposure to potential hazards such as underground utilities and heavy equipment. Exposure to noise from the hydrovac equipment
Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of basic underground utilities
Strong problem solving skils with attention to detail
CDL with Tanker Endorsement or CDL learners permit
Valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass pre-employment MVR, drug test, & criminal background check and have an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical.
High school diploma or GED (general education degree)

Two or more years of experience in hydrovac excavation or similar field preferred
Ability to operate and maintain hydrovac equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
CDL with Tanker Endorsement or CDL learners permit
Valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass pre-employment MVR, drug test, & criminal background check and have an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical.
High school diploma or GED (general education degree)
Safe driving experience
Ability to work across state lines
Mechanically inclined
Experience with road work, hydro excavation and dump site procedures
